Snow Date is February 11th

The 2012 MASC Legislative Session will be held at Edgewood High School in Harford County, MD, on February 4th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a conference open to all middle and high school students in Maryland. To be a voting delegate and participate in the election and stances on bills you must be a student of a member school of MASC.

Delegates will vote to select two students to be submitted as finalists to the governor for nomination to be State Student Member on the Board of Education for the 2012-2013 school year. Delegates will also learn the process of how a bill becomes a law, what parliamentary procedure is, how to lobby and vote on stances that MASC should take on actual bills in the Maryland State house that relate to students.

The conference is $25 for delegates. Attached is the Participant Emergency Form, directions, registration checklist, invitation letter and the tentative agenda.

Registration Opens online on January 6th Closes on January 20th and all Payments must be postmarked by January 25th.

Nominations are for Felix Simon Award, Principal of the Year and Advisor of the Year award packets are also due on February 4th.
